An Introduction To Me and My Take On Lifestyle Design

My name is David Krug, thus the groovy domain name. I’m 29 Years Old, but that’s bound to change with time. We all get older don’t we? I’m not trained in much of anything but believe in constantly learning, adapting, and changing. I grew up with a computer from the time I was six years old and have been building websites as soon as I figured out what a domain name was. I’ve been an internet entrepreneur for about 5+ years, and enjoying every minute of it. I began a lifestyle choice similar to lifestyle design without knowing that’s what it was. I read Tim Ferriss’s Four Hour Work Week and have recommitted to living out a new life utiiizing some of the principles of his book.

What is Lifestyle Design ?

To me lifestyle design is about seizing control of your life, and making the choices to bring about the lifestyle, and level of happiness that will bring you fulfillment. It has been popularized by Tim Ferriss and his book entitled the Four Hour Work Week, but it also has been lived out by many people for a long time. One group that I’ve seen live it out is expatriates, and creatives who have been disgruntled with the traditional American dream. Lifestyle design is a choice to live differently. To make choices that to some would appear selfish. But are about living freely, without constraints, and limitations. To live out the dreams, and desires of one’s heart.

“Basically it is the idea that you can live an unconventional life that unlocks the lifestyle of the rich and retired even now while you are still working. It has been receiving lots of attention ever since Tim Ferriss’ book The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich. While he didn’t invent the concept, he helped create the terminology and offered several techniques for designing the lifestyle of your choice. Though some have bashed the idea of a 4-hour work week, many other books, blogs, and websites have since popped up explaining how to live a life that defies the status-quo. ” ~ Source
