The Empty Road

Here we are. Alone again. The whispering waves crash against the shore calling us back. But we are leaving, running from all the pain and sadness of yesterday to a better place. A place were we can live together with no worries. Singing songs of our youth, while joy chases us onward. The road ahead is a beautiful one with happines spread about. I really wish you’d quit singing that same old song, but I’m just glad you are here, next to me alone, yet on the road. The empty road. The empty road that bears our name, and hides our shame, and shares our fame and knows no blame.
